A group of venturer Scouts visited the meeting to thank Cromwell Rotarians for their financial support towards participating in a development camp coming up during the summer break.

We wish them all the best in what sounds like a very comprehensive personal development programme with many different areas of focus.

Key speaker tonight was the Curator of the Cromwell Museum, Jennifer Hay who spoke to members about developing the new museum in the Cultural Centre.
Jennifer was originally employed by the Museum Trust, Martin Anderson, the trust chair also attended the meeting. Jennifer is now employed by CODC with a brief to rethink the museum.
She is working in collaboration with Story Inc in Wellington to produce and interactive and engaging museum that will have wide reaching appeal.
The facility will also have a cafe, cinema, auditorium, dance studio, research room, meeting rooms with water as the overarching metaphor for the displays and concepts.
There will be interactive displays focussing on Maori history, High Country Settlers, Chinese Goldmining, and Moa Bones amonst other topics.
There will be oral stories of the transformation of Cromwell and the imapct of the Clyde Dam. As well as horticultural and viticultural and conservation displays.
Thank you very much Jennifer and Martin for coming to tell us about this very exciting project to share the stories from our past and present days.
