What an amazing and successful night at the James Dicey wine tasting event!
To be entertained by Jonathan Usher and James Dicey was an absolute delight. Their quirky jokes, stories and wonderful sense of humour made the evening so much fun and kept everyone entertained throughout the night.
The new Cromwell Event Centre, Te Puna Mahara, was the perfect venue, with its beautiful views creating a fantastic setting for such a special wine-tasting event.
A very special highlight of the evening was Rotary Cromwell presenting James Dicey with a Paul Harris Fellow Award. It was such an honour to recognise a man who has given so much to our community.
James Dicey's incredible knowledge of the wine industry was fascinating to hear — from the development of wine in New Zealand and Cromwell to the industry today. And of course, the wine was absolutely beautiful! The new Dicey boxed wine range is well worth trying — everyone should give it a taste!
With over 100 people attending, the evening was a huge success, and we can't wait to do another one soon!
A huge thank you to Jonathan Usher for your fiery display! Opening a card and having flames come out, followed by the line, “In case there's a fire, this is where you've got to go!” was absolutely hilarious and had everyone laughing!
And of course, a huge thank you to James Dicey for helping make the night such a memorable, entertaining and successful event!
Finally, a big thank you to all our wonderful helpers, especially the ladies who worked so hard pouring and serving the wine throughout the evening. You all did an amazing job and helped make the event run so smoothly — we truly appreciate you!

Another great moment from our James Dicey wine tasting event!
Our Rotary Cromwell legend, Craig Lunn, had an absolutely fantastic night! He was the highest bidder in the auction for a huge magnum of 2017 Dicey Wines Pinot Noir — what an incredible prize to take home!
The auction was also a fantastic fundraiser and added to the success of an already amazing evening.
But Craig's luck didn't stop there... he also won another bottle of wine in our raffle!
And in the photos, I'd have to say Craig looks like the rose between two thorns!
