Prior to Monday’s speaker’s presentation Jonathan past District Chair of the GSE programme, took the opportunity to provide background on the GSE programme and the Cromwell club’s participation to help provide context for Josie Spillane.
Josie needed little introduction, being well acquainted with many of our members.  A description of the activities packed into the last 20 years was impressive. However, it was clear that from her early involvement with Cure Kids that Josies involvement was a passion that started a career and the passion clearly continues.
Josie described in some detail her love-hate relationship with Shrek and her photo slideshow featured many high profile people that have formed part of her amazing journey.
Josies current role as CEO of Highlands and the ever-expanding Tony Quinn empire has clearly been a challenging phase of Josie’s career along with husband Mitch bringing with it recognition in many forms including a national leadership award.
Although not [yet] a Rotarian, the underlying Service above Self ethos was a clear thread running through Josie’s activities.
The presentation was much appreciated by those present.
