April 2022

This year is not getting any easier for any of us it seems. Omicron has found itself well entrenched in Cromwell and I am hearing stories that vary from a mild flu to some people being quite unwell and tired. I think we all need to keep safe and that is why we have not been holding face to face club meetings.
It has been decided that we will continue not having face to face meetings for April as we have Easter and Anzac Day breaks to contend with anyway. So the current plan (and I stress current as things can still change) is there will be a zoom meeting for all members on April 11 as an opportunity to catch up and stay in touch with what is happening in the club. There will be no other club meetings during April but there is our tree planting project and District Picnic scheduled for April 23 and there is a reminder provided in the bulletin to enroll for these events.
The current thinking is there will be no meeting on May 2, club meeting at T&C on the 11th, a vocational night on the 16th, another T&C meeting on the 23rd and a guess who is coming to dinner on May 30th. This makes the remarkable and possibly overly confident call that May sees us return to some form of normality....watch this space.
We are struggling to get enough helpers to prepare Rotary Point for planting on April 23. I know these are uncertain times but every little bit helps. Please support Fin and his team if at all possible as this project really does meet our environmental goals for this year.
Stay safe and look after each other.
Stuart

Sending Out D9980 in Style Cromwell 2022
Also on the 23rd of April, and following the tree planting, you are invited to the event - Sending Out D9980 in Style Cromwell 2022.

Celebrate D9980 and send it out in style.  We may not be having a conference but we can now come together and share memories and good company for an afternoon in Cromwell.

Join DG Nick and fellow Rotarians at the Bannockburn Hall for an all afternoon Lunch / Dinner.  We will tick off a few tasks that would have happened at conference, District Awards, Pumpkin Weigh In and catching up with old friends.

This is a family friendly event so kids and grandkids are welcome too. If you are bringing them along please email Pam Broadhead  pam.broadhead@xtra.co.nz for catering purposes.

If you haven't already done so, you may sign up for this event through the link which Nick e-mailed to all on the 24th of March.

Cost $20.00 per adult - all excess funds will go to Pumpkins for Polio  - Kids are free
