STOP the PRESS : Rotarians love a good shoe !!
There was an extra strong turnout for our August 17 visit to Rotarian Paddy Breen’s business Shoes Unlimited. Paddy and wife Paula explained briefly the history of their involvement in the shoe trade, the shoe vagaries of customers in Cromwell vs Wanaka and Queenstown, and the challenges brought about for them since March and Covid. AND there’s been some good stuff for them; they’ve been sending slippers all over the world ! Several members were seen scurrying back to their cars with shoe purchases before we adjourned to Monsoon restaurant in the Cromwell Mall for a delicious Indian meal and a chance to meet owner Amol. Another great night in the life of Cromwell Rotary.
