Kia ora Cromwell Rotary Club,

I am writing to say thank you very much for your generous contribution to help me attend my Outward Bound course. I have completed my three-week course at the Outward Bound School in Anakiwa and can say, without hesitation, that it was one of the best experiences of my life so far. Over the three weeks I was away for, I was constantly challenged and pushed outside my comfort zone, which I believe has been extremely beneficial in growing my confidence and self-belief. Some activities which I found to be physically challenging but also very rewarding included rock climbing, long tramps, a high ropes course, and kayak surfing.

Through community service I was able to give back to the local community, and also grow my appreciation for the environment around me. I have made the commitment to continue caring for the environment by picking up rubbish on the local walking/ bike track whenever I am home -even if it is simply for a couple of hours, I know that this can make all the difference. While I was away, I also made many new friends from all over New Zealand who I hope to stay in touch with and reunite with in the future.

Overall Outward Bound was an unforgettable experience and one that I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to attend. Once again, many thanks Cromwell Rotary Club, I really do appreciate your help towards my course. I would be more than happy to attend a Cromwell Rotary Club meeting and share further details about my amazing experience, and more about the skills and knowledge I have gained. Following the completion of my exams on 8 December, I will be at home in Cromwell for the summer holidays so please let me know if you would like me to attend a meeting.

Kind regards,  Megan Foster
