In March 2021, LDCT received $500,000 funding from LINZ as part of 'Jobs for Nature' and this will be invested in the ‘Bridge to Bridge’ biodiversity restoration project. They have also partnered with Trees That Count who has Government funding to plant 100,000 trees throughout NZ to commemorate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. We have been invited to assist with the first stage Lake Dunstan Bridge to Bridge Jobs for Nature planting on the weekend of 8th & 9th October. This stage will see 10,000 of the planned 56,000 natives planted between Deadmans Point and Lowburn Inlet to promote biodiverstiy and improve community well-being and access. Lake Dunstan Charitable Trust & Te Tapu o Tane are partnering with Trees That Count to host a fun and inclusive weekend for the local community and stakeholders to come together and improve our local environment.
