Working day at Rotary Point, Saturday the 14th of August from 0900. We will need at least 4 people with wheel barrows and shovels to move crushed bark, 2 with rakes and at least 4-5 with gloves to shift branches. All will need ear muffs [noise protection from a chain saw] at some stage. We will be cutting up fire wood so if you have a hand log splitter bring that along too. With that number of people we will be finished by lunch time. This is to have the area cleaned up so we can move in with a large wood chipper to chip branches so the area is ready to plant trees and shrubs. The crushed bark is going to be used to continue forming a path which will meander through the planted area [no broken ankles as the surface is very rough]. Fin White , Project lead. |

Time is flying past and it's time to organise the volunters for the House and Garden tour on Saturday 30 October. This year we are doing things a little different to minimise the amount of people gathering at the start of the day.
Ticket holders will receive the map and their 'start house' a few days prior to the event. On the day, we will need 3 people at each home. These people will check the ticket holders off the list we have supplied, hand out the wrist band and the shoe bag. Any person at the wrong start house will be sent to the correct house on their ticket. The start time will be 9.45am for the volunters, with the event starting at 10am. The event finishes at 4pm, but with enough volunters, we are hoping to do a half day so you can take a look around the homes. A few days prior, one person from each home will be asked to meet for a short meeting to go over the instructions for the day.
This Home and Garden tour is a very profitable fundrasier (not to mention fun), so the more that can share the day, the better we all are. Thanks in advance
Paula
