The dream of every puppy born in our guide dog breeding centre is to grow up to be a guide dog. Did you know it takes two years of highly specialised training to fulfill this dream?
Hit the streets with us on 22 or 23 March and the money you collect will help breed and train more guide dogs. These special dogs can bring freedom, confidence and independence to New Zealanders who are blind or have low vision.
Last year, supporters like you raised an incredible $900,000 for guide dogs during Red Puppy Appeal.

Tonight we have combined a social and vocation visit. We are going to Amigos for a social meal together. During the evening James Emanuel (one of the owners) is going to share the journey they have had with their Amigos businesses and where they are wanting to take it. James is quite gregarious so it should be an interesting and fun talk. As you probably know the food is yummy! |

Come along and enjoy fellowship, a drink (BYO) & pizza before watching Peter Jackson bring old footage to life in this WW1 documentary They Shall not Grow Old. Through ground breaking computer restoration technology, filmmaker Peter Jackson's team creates a moving real-to-life depiction of the WWI, as never seen before in restored, vivid colorizing & retiming of the film frames, in order to honour those who fought and more accurately depict this historical moment in world history. |

‘Youth Take Over Amigos’ As mentioned when we visited both Amigos and the Cromwell Youth Trust - Hangout - the youth of Cromwell are staffing Amigos for an evening with profits going to the Cromwell Youth Trust. This is booked in for Wednesday 4th September between 5.30pm – 8:30pm – James has recommended that Rotary members, who wish to attend, get in first! This is the usual menu so you can pick from their usual array of dishes. It will be important to ensure all the attendees attend on the night, as any that are unable to make it, will mean a potential booking/seat is missed and the fundraising opportunity will potentially be lost for that individual/s spot (from his experience with the Wanaka Kahu Youth events in the past). Sign up by Friday August 2nd as this will ‘officially’ be promoted to the wider community from Monday 5th August – but they want to make sure Rotary have that first chance! Bring along your friends as we hope to book the place out!!
