As mentioned at our recent meetings there has been a lot of weed spraying done around the tussock plantings done at both the north and south sides of Deadmans Bridge. The dead weeds now need to be pulled out, a very easy tug is all that will be required, then the tussocks can grow to their full potential and we will reduce the risk of a fire there.

We ask for as many helpers as possible to come along on Monday at 6PM to meet at the car park on the north side of the bridge. With a good crowd turnout we plan to pull all the weeds out in an hour and then move to The Five Stags for an hour of sharing and socialising.

Please take the time to join in on both, or one of these activities. If you are unable to pull weeds please feel very welcome to join in with everyone at The Five Stags at 7PM. These Monday nights are about Rotary fellowship among friends.

Janeen and David as trustees on the Central Otago Queenstown Trail Network Trust will speak to us about the progress of the project to develop new cycle trails through the Cromwell Basin. 

Cromwell Cultural Centre Trust is a new organisation in Cromwell.

We almost got it finished last time so we would like to have one final push at Deadman's Point as the entrance to Cromwell is looking so much better!

We will then head to the new Stoaker Room Bistro & Bar (Wild Earth) next to Freeway to celebrate.

Gordon Stewart will take us for a ramble around some of Bannockurns history (1-2 hours) followed by tea at the Black Rabbit (approx 5pm start)

The evening will be held in Wanaka hosted by the Wanaka Rotary Club at the Wanaka District Club (45 Plantation Road) from 6pm  on Tuesday the 2^nd of April. 

There is NO meeting on Monday the 1st of April as we are having a Bannockburn Ramble and tea at the Black Rabbit on Sunday 31st March (details coming soon)

We are meeting at the Transfer Station to toss the rubbish books from the storage container in to recycling bins.

We need lots of able bodied helpers (Rotary & the community) to get this done. This is a one off event.The committee has a plan to manage further recycling.

To commemorate 30 years of Women in Rotary our guest speaker will be Jenny Scott who was president of our club in 1998-99

Jenny was our second women president with the first being Gill Adams in 1992-93

 Gill and Shirley MacAlister were both inducted in 1989 – the year women were invited to join Rotary. 

Cromwell was the first club in the 9980 District to induct women into their club.

PLEASE; BRING ALONG YOUR PARTNERS AND EVERYONE WEAR SOMETHING PINK!!

On Monday 22 April Murray has organised a combined meeting with Alexandra Rotary Club and the Professional Development Exchange members at Lowburn Hall from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.  They will be giving a presentation followed by a barbecue. We will be providing the barbecue food (patties, sausages fish cakes, salads, bread) and all you need to bring are your own drinks, pre-dinner nibbles, plates, utensils and a chair.  The cost will be $15.  Partners are very welcome. RSVP in to Helen by Wednesday 17th!

Report on the Oamaru Distrcit conference

We are providing breakfast for Cromwell College students each school morning. We are setting up and supervising in the HOme Ec room. Training provided by Hilary and / or Adrienne. 

Meet at the Lake Dunstan Pharmacy (next to the iSite) at 6pm or join us at the Five Stags at 7pm. Remember apologies as for a usual meeting if you cannot join us for either of these!

Christine is a member of our club and works for the Otago Hospice based in Cromwell.

We would love as many people as possible to help put the coloured stickers on to the spines of the fiction books. Also able bodied people to move boxes of books from Core Shed to Storage container nearby. Sign up list out now.
